ABOUT R2RDR
River 2 Ridge Disaster Resilience Group (R2RDR) is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization made up of a volunteer committee of community partners including local businesses, non-profit organizations, churches and other religious organizations, economic development and emergency management. R2RDR provides resources and connections for people in Crawford, La Crosse, Monroe, and Vernon counties who are working to recover from a natural disaster or community crisis.
Originally formed as the Long Term Flood Recovery Group – Region 1 to provide relief following the flooding of 2007, the group re-convened in the fall of 2018 to help their neighbors with unmet flood recovery needs. In March of 2020, the LTFRG officially dissolved and reconvened as R2RDR.
The current committee is made up of representatives from American Red Cross, Coulee Cap, La Crosse County Emergency Management, Vernon County Economic Development & Tourism, Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, Thrivent Financial, Great Rivers United Way, and several other local, regional, and national organizations.
In 2021, R2RDR provided $30,000 in funding to help 76 families in the service area who were behind on their energy bills as a result of Covid-19.
